Sales of flavored milk and specialty protein milks have skyrocketed thanks to the addition of nontraditional flavors like honey.
The USDA has reported that sales of flavored milk have increased over the past 10 years and many milk processors have had success with limited-time-only and nontraditional flavored milks. These uniquely flavored, sweeter milks have been credited as giving milk processors and dairies added business revenue.
Flavored milks also are on the rise due in part to the health benefits found in protein. Recent studies also suggest that milk and milk-based beverages are more effective than traditional sports and energy drinks at replacing fluids lost during exercise.
High protein drinks fortified with honey fill the body with natural energy. Each tablespoon of honey contains 17 grams of carbohydrates, and when paired with milk, gives consumers a natural boost of energy packed with nutritional value. Athlete’s Honey Milk provides athletes with two natural, healthful ingredients: honey and milk. These two beneficial ingredients give athletes the energy boost they need while also providing fuel to complete workouts.
